About Andy:

Irene is a Marine Ecologist working at NIWA who has just completed her PhD at Massey University working together with fishers and divers to track changes in tropical fish populations in New Zealand. Her passion is the ocean, especially larval fish biology and sub-tropical vagrants. She has assisted on major marine biodiversity expeditions around the South Pacific (including Palmerston Atoll, Beveridge reef,  Niue, New Caledonia, Fiji and the Tongan archipelago). Irene is particularly passionate about documenting anthropogenic impacts on New Zealand Marine environment through science and images.
